No. If you can write a WhatsApp message, you can use BauGPT. You type your question (or dictate it) and get an answer. No programming, no complicated settings.

No — and it's not meant to. BauGPT is a tool, not a replacement for expertise and experience. It speeds up the paperwork: site reports, minutes, documentation. The decisions on site are still yours.

Think of BauGPT like a circular saw: it makes cutting faster, but you need to know where to cut.

BauGPT understands and writes German and English fluently. You can also write in other languages — BauGPT understands more than 50. For construction terminology it works best in German, because it was trained on German standards and regulations.

You can also use it for translating: "Translate this defect notice into English for the Polish subcontractor."

BauGPT is very good in most cases. But it isn't perfect — like any colleague, it can be wrong. So keep in mind:

• Texts and wording: Very reliable (95%+)
• General construction facts: Good, but always double-check
• Specific details of standards: Good as orientation; when in doubt, look it up in the original standard
• Calculations: Always recalculate!

Rule of thumb: use BauGPT as a drafting machine. It delivers 80–90% of the finished document. You check and complete the last 10–20% with your own expertise.

No, BauGPT needs an internet connection. The AI runs on servers, not on your phone. On most construction sites mobile internet (4G/5G) is perfectly sufficient.

Tip for poor reception: write your notes in your notes app and paste them into BauGPT later, once you have reception again.

BauGPT runs in the browser — on any device with internet access:

No app installation needed. Just open app.baugpt.pro in your browser.

BauGPT connects directly with selected tools. You can find the current overview in the Integrations Marketplace. Available integrations are marked “Available”, while planned integrations are marked “Coming soon”.

As an admin, manage connections in BauGPT Pro under Settings → Integrations. Depending on the integration, you can connect it, manage it, or join its waitlist. Some integrations require the Business plan.

If your tool is not listed, you can request it directly in the Integrations Marketplace.

Yes! There are individual licences and team licences:

• Individual licence: one account, one user
• Team licence: several accounts under one company roof, with shared templates and settings

With a team licence everyone keeps their own chats. You can also share templates — for example a uniform site report format for the whole company.

It can happen. Here's how to deal with it:

1. Correct it: simply write "That's not right, it should be XY" — BauGPT learns within the conversation
2. Regenerate: tap 🔄 below the answer for a new attempt
3. Give feedback: tap 👎 — that helps us improve BauGPT

Important documents (contracts, acceptance reports, structural calculations) should always be checked by a professional. BauGPT drafts, you approve.

Any modern browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge — ideally the latest version. On your phone the default browser works fine (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android).

BauGPT Pro needs very little bandwidth. Normal 4G mobile data is enough. It even works with a weak signal — the answer just takes a little longer.

If you upload large documents, faster internet helps. For normal chat messages any connection will do.

Here's how:

1. Click the + icon below the chat text field
2. Choose the file from your device
3. Tell BauGPT what to do with it (e.g. "Summarise this contract")
4. Click send

On a computer: you can also drag & drop files into the chat.

Partly. If you upload a photo of handwritten notes, BauGPT tries to recognise the text via OCR. This works well for:

• ✅ Clean block letters
• ✅ Simple lists and bullet points
• ⚠️ Average handwriting (occasional mistakes)
• ❌ Very unclear handwriting

Tip: take the photo in good light, as straight from above as possible.

Yes, in two ways:

1. Dictation in the chat — click 🎤 Start dictation below the text field. BauGPT turns your speech into text and you can send the message right away.

2. Audio transcription — go to the "Transcriptions" section in the left sidebar. There you can upload audio files or record directly. Ideal for longer site meetings.

The prompt library (in the left navigation) is your collection of templates for recurring tasks. You can:

• Create your own prompts — e.g. "Create a daily report with these fields: ..."
• Use the prompt marketplace — over 300 ready-made templates from experts, e.g. claim justifications, BoQ analyses, cost calculations
• Filter by category — construction management, contract law, calculation, etc.

All prompts in the marketplace are free.

If you enable the "Search the internet" toggle below the text field, BauGPT Pro additionally searches the web for current information. Useful for:

• Current standards and regulations
• Material prices
• Manufacturer information
• Weather data

Without the toggle, BauGPT answers based only on its training and your uploaded documents.

Normally BauGPT answers within 2–10 seconds. Sometimes it takes longer:

• A document is being analysed — you can see the steps (vector search, file retrieval, etc.)
• Large documents — a 200-page PDF needs more processing time
• Internet search enabled — web research takes extra seconds
• Slow internet — common on construction sites

If it takes longer than 30 seconds, reload the page and try again.

All your chats are saved on the left under "Conversations". You can:

• Search — click the magnifier and enter a keyword
• Create folders — organise chats by project under "Projects"
• Archive — click the archive icon for finished chats
• Switch between list and tile view — via the icons next to "Conversations"

Tip: organise your chats in project folders. That way you'll find everything instantly.

Try these steps:

1. Check your internet connection — are you online?
2. Reload the page — click the refresh button in your browser
3. Clear the browser cache — settings → history → clear cache
4. Try another browser — sometimes switching helps

Yes, fully. BauGPT meets all requirements of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That means:

• Data is stored on EU servers
• You have the right to access, deletion and objection at any time
• We have a data protection officer
• A data processing agreement (DPA) is available for business customers

All data is stored on servers in Germany and the EU. We use ISO-27001-certified data centres. Your construction projects, reports and chats never leave the EU.

No. Your project data, chats and uploaded documents are not used to train the AI. Your construction projects remain your construction projects.

We use anonymised usage statistics (e.g. "how often is the report feature used") to improve BauGPT. But the content of your conversations never flows into AI training.

No. Every account is completely separate. No other user has access to your chats, documents or projects.

On team accounts, admins can see which users are active — but not the content of their chats.

Data deletion is handled by our support team — you can't delete your data yourself directly in the dashboard.

Here's what to do:

Send an e-mail to datenschutz@baugpt.com with your name and registered e-mail address. We delete your data within 30 days and confirm the deletion.

Deleting individual chats works directly in the chat: ⋮ → "Delete chat".

No. Even with team licences, the admin has no access to the content of your chats. They only see organisational data (active users, usage frequency).

Exception: if your employer has agreed otherwise in the terms of use. When in doubt, ask your IT department.

If you use BauGPT for business and process personal data (e.g. candidate names in reports), then yes. We provide a DPA in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Write to legal@baugpt.com — we'll send you the DPA within 24 hours.

After cancellation:

• Your data remains available for 30 days (you can export it)
• After 30 days all data is irrevocably deleted
• You receive a confirmation by e-mail

You can also request a data export before cancelling: Settings → Privacy → "Export data".
